2019 has been another busy one for Brampton Recruitment. As we’re coming to the end of the year (and decade!) we’re looking back at some of the highlights, including new staff members, exciting milestones and the continuation of our support for local charities.
The Brampton team has seen some fantastic new additions to the team this year! We’ve welcomed Chloe Jones as an Administrator, and Sammy Davies and John Anderson as Commercial Consultants. This year has also seen Leanne Taylor gain promotion to our Temp Specialist/Resourcer. She’s flourished in the role and is our go-to person for all things temporary on the commercial team.
We also had a special birthday this year, as our fabulous Administrator Chloe turned 21. We were so pleased to get the opportunity to spoil her rotten! Another important milestone was reached by our Accounts & Finance Resourcer Karen, who passed her driving test in November.
Throughout 2019, we’ve been proud to continue our support for the Daniel Hughes Memorial Fund in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young. We helped out at events such as their annual Football Tournament (we had our own Brampton team too!) This year saw Dan’s amazing parents, Sue and Dave, being nominated for the Sentinel’s ‘Our Hero’ Awards, where they were highly commended. They also won a Pride of Birmingham award for all the incredible work they do to raise awareness of the danger of undiagnosed heart conditions and provide heart screenings to local young people.
We purchased one of the amazing ceramic butterflies that formed part of the incredible ‘Take Flight’ installation at Trentham Gardens. 5,000 butterflies were made by hand; their designs are echoes of paintings by Charlotte Thom, who spent time at the Donna Louise and was a keen artist who tragically passed away last year aged just 20. We were honoured to be able to play our part in raising funds for such a fantastic local charity, which do fantastic work supporting children, young people and their families at the most difficult of times.
We also supported the Dougie Mac Bring a Pound day this year by sponsoring a duck in their inaugural duck race. He may not have won, but he was a winner in our eyes!
Brampton Recruitment also continued our work in the community in 2019. In July, Consultant Jayne went along to the wildlife garden we’ve sponsored at Brampton Museum’s gardens to take part in a butterfly hunt in preparation for the Heart of England in Bloom competition. She met with the judges and had a chat with them about why we sponsor the garden and how important the project is for education and conservation in the area.
Claire joined the networking group BNI@10 this year. BNI is the world’s leading business networking and referral organisation, and this Staffordshire-based chapter of BNI sees its’ members increasing their business by 20% in the first year on average. If you’re interested in joining visit http://bnistaffordshire.co.uk/staffordshire-bni@10-wednesday/en-GB/index to find out more including how to get in touch.
We continued our ‘Refer a Friend Scheme’ throughout 2019, which has been a huge success since its launch in 2016. We’ve had some very happy recipients of shopping vouchers following successful placements of their referred friend or family member! The scheme will continue into 2020, so if you know anyone looking for work, send them our way for the chance of receiving up to £50 in shopping vouchers.
