We have celebrated the commitment of our temporary workers by recognising Robert Gibson, of National Veterinary Services (NVS) in Talke, Stoke-on-Trent, as the winner of our ‘Temp of the Year’ award scheme.
We supply temporary staff to hundreds of local businesses across North Staffordshire and South Cheshire, and we originally placed Robert as a short-term temporary worker. He now holds a permanent role and the team at NVS believe he has an extremely bright future at the business.
Robert originally approached Brampton Recruitment looking for an opportunity to gain work experience in marketing following his degree and a short internship. He jumped at the chance of the short-term role, believing that he needed all of the practical experience he could get.
National Veterinary Services nominated Robert, aged 24 from Stoke on Trent, for the commercial award, after he impressed their marketing team with his excellent skills, can-do attitude and attention to detail.
Comments from Robert’s manager at National Veterinary Services wowed the staff at Brampton and his nomination still resonates with the recruitment team. Julie described Gibson as, “A credit to his parents and, although very young, he has his head screwed on. His manners are impeccable.
“Rob is a pleasure to work with and I believe that, with on-going training, he will become an excellent marketer and an asset to NVS – especially in the digital domain.”
I was delighted to present Robert with a certificate to mark his achievement along with £50 in shopping vouchers.
“I would recommend anyone seeking employment to contact Brampton,” commented Robert. “They were friendly, helpful and understanding of what job area I wanted to pursue my career, rather than providing me with opportunities which didn’t best suit my interest or studies. I would like to thank both my employers, NVS for the opportunity and the recognition and I would like to extend my gratitude to Brampton for helping me to find the right position to which suited me.”
This is the fifth year that we have run our ‘Temp of the Year’ award scheme; inviting all employers of our hundred or more temporary workers to nominate individuals who have gone beyond the call of duty in their work.
Temporary members of staff are a crucial asset to a business in need. A gap in an organisation can be detrimental and having a business relationship with a local recruitment agency that understands your needs can be worth its weight in gold.
The variety of roles can include challenging responsibilities, therefore temporary candidates tend to have varied and adaptable skills, helping them mould into a business and its requirements.
Every year the need for temporary staff grows and we supply a wide range of candidates to an even wider range of businesses. Our annual awards always go down extremely well and show true appreciation for the work that our temporary workers do.
I’d like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all temporary workers that have worked for us throughout 2015 – Congratulations to Robert and well done to everyone nominated!
