Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs grade C/5 or above including Maths and English.
  • Please note to be eligible for this role and training, candidates must not already have an equivalent (level 3) or higher qualification, in any IT subject.

Job Description:

Our client has a lucrative opportunity for an IT Apprentice to join a successful company who specialise in asset management. This exciting IT apprenticeship role involves working with an experienced team to look after a network which supports more than 100 users (Windows and Mac) including remote users on virtual desktops, iPads and iPhones.

The apprenticeship training is expected to take 18 months and the IT Apprentice will gain the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management and A+ certification. The IT Apprenticeship is confirmed at SFIA level 3 professional competence.

 

Learning and study format includes VLE, online live study sessions, Skills Day Workshops, professional examinations (as above), portfolio of evidence and End Point Assessment.

 

Duties for the IT Apprentice include:

 

  • Assisting with IT system upgrades
  • Supporting the company’s employees with a variety of queries and problems, face-to-face and by phone
  • Maintenance of network systems including trouble-shooting and analysis
  • Working with Cloud services
  • Assisting with research into new technologies and products (hardware/software)
  • Assisting in maintaining secure network, mobile devices and data infrastructure
  • Assisting with data back-ups and IT disaster recovery operations
  • Working to relevant quality standards, legislation and company policy
