Candidate Requirements:

The Trainee Project Estimator will be dynamic, ambitious and enthusiastic. You will be willing to adapt, learn and grow and will be proactive to put skills into practice.

 

You will be:

 

  • Enthusiastic and charismatic with the ability to prioritise and own projects and workload
  • Good at communicating across all levels with a high attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
  • Previous experience of working with projects and deadlines, through University or with work
  • Be confident with visiting customers at face to face meetings on occasion
  • Experience of working within estimating or project costing would be an advantage as would experience of bid preparation

Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Project Estimator to join a leading manufacturer and supplier of niche and bespoke products on a national basis. As a Trainee Project Estimator, you will be provided with the full training and development to create a career as a Project Sales Estimator and will be rewarded with pay reviews, 25 days holiday, free parking and free or discounted hot and cold beverages.

 

The Trainee Project Estimator role will be given full training and support to identify project requirements by reviewing, analysing and interpreting engineering specifications and drawings in addition to visit reports from Area Sales Managers.

 

The Trainee Project Estimator will:

 

  • Estimate the material costs for all bespoke requirements
  • Build the quote and submit to the Sales or Account Manager to deliver to the customer
  • Liaise with customers to establish scope of work and budget
  • Work closely with colleagues and suppliers to establish cost price information
  • Combine material costs with estimations for manufacturing times, design time requirements, installing and civil work
  • Arrive at a profitable yet competitive proposal that matches the customer’s enquiry/requirements
  • Issuing detailed time and material estimates throughout the business
  • Construct and issue written quotations utilising the in-house CRM system, maintaining notepads, order due dates and project status
