As a Trainee / Graduate Estimator, you will report directly to and work alongside the Director

Our client is a local, successful, and well-established manufacturing, supply, and fitting company based in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent.

Job Description:
  
As a Trainee / Graduate Estimator, you will report directly to and work alongside the Director with duties to include:

  • Pricing / assisting in pricing competitive tenders
  • Negotiating on projects ranging in value
  • Professionally liaise with supply chain, clients, and stakeholders
  • Reviewing construction drawings and construction programmes
  • Purchasing materials, placing orders and managing supply chain payments
  • Securing labour to meet construction programmes
  • Preparing monthly valuations
  • Project forecasting and tracking
  • Liaising with clients with project updates
  • Managing projects from start to finish – take responsibility for successful delivery
  • Attending site visits as required

Candidate Requirements:

Ideally, as a Trainee Estimator, you will have or be:

  • Estimating experience either in a project role or a degree in this area
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy is critical
  • A full, clean driving licence is essential
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential
  • Experience of JCT & NEC contracts is desirable
  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar area would be advantageous
  • Educated to HNC / Degree level advantageous
  • Understanding payments, forecasting and margins advantageous
  • Experience in manufacturing and fitting processes advantageous
  • Ability to organise own workload with minimum supervision
  • Professional and polite when dealing with clients and colleagues
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to cope with a busy schedule and multitask  

Hours:  Monday – Friday  8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Salary £25,000 – £35,000 DOE
