Here’s to 2023!

2023 seems to have gone by in a flash! It’s been both a busy and at times challenging year in the world of recruitment. As we approach the end of the year, the Brampton team has been reflecting on some of the highlights from the last 12 months.

This year we have been extremely proud to support The Peter Pan Centre for Children with Special Needs and our Charity Champion Nicola really pulled out all the stops so we could raise as much money as possible for them.

It started in April, when we did a sponsored 80’s themed Dancethon. We dressed up in our best 80’s party gear and danced to some amazing party classics as it was International Dance Day. A few team members were a bit baffled by Music Man, Agadoo and Superman as they were far too young to remember them, but we all had a brilliant time having a boogie to raise funds.

May this year saw the team compete in a sponsored Bake Off to coincide with World Baking Day. There were some absolutely amazing (and delicious!) creations, expertly judged by Jackie from the Peter Pan Centre. In June, Nicola and Karen manned our sensory toys stall at the Peter Pan Centre’s Summer Fair. It was so lovely to see all the kids having a great time despite the rain coming down.

In October we held a quiz night at the Floral Hall. It was such a brilliant night, starting with a performance by some of the kids from TGA Street Dance. Rachel’s husband Ian was our fantastic host for the night and gave Bradley Walsh a run for his money (who was also there in cardboard cutout form!). Nice Dough Pizza Van was at the venue to provide some brain food and their handmade pizzas went down a storm! Overall we had a fantastic time and we’re so grateful to everyone who came along and also all who helped us, including all the local businesses who provided incredible raffle prizes such as a Samsung Galaxy Tablet and an air-fryer.

We are delighted to say we raised £1559 for the Peter Pan Centre for Children with Special Needs this year and Chief Executive Catherine Cook had this to say about how the money raised will help them:

We’re excited to announce that we will be continuing to support the Peter Pan Centre throughout 2024 as they will again be our chosen charity for the year. We can’t wait to help bring in more much-needed funds for this amazing cause, and our Charity Champion Nicola has some fantastic fundraising ideas for next year, so make sure you keep an eye out to see what we get up to!

We also continued our support for Dougie Mac this year. Claire and Hayley attended their incredible 50th birthday ball and we also took part in their ‘Bring It, Bag It’ initiative once again, raising over £1000. We were incredibly surprised and delighted to be nominated for the Trailblazer award at their Business Partnership award ceremony. We feel very privileged to help such an amazing local charity in any way we can.

We had a furry addition to the Brampton team this year, as Director Claire welcomed her lovely new Cavapoo puppy Teddy to her family. He’s an adorable little ball of fluff and we absolutely love it when he comes into the office!

We also had a new human addition to the team too, as this year saw Karen Gordon join us as our Accounts & Payroll Manager. To say she is a dog-lover is an understatement, so we already know who her favourite member of the Brampton team is!!

It’s been an interesting year, and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the companies and candidates that have used our services in 2023. Your support is really appreciated, and we look forward to continuing to work with you as we enter a brand-new year! Here’s to a fantastic 2024!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the whole team at Brampton Recruitment!
