In the first instance, send your CV through to us here or call us on 01782 976976. One of our Consultants will call for an initial chat and you’ll also be asked to complete our application form. We’ll go through any suitable job roles, put you forward for any that are of interest and we’ll keep you informed at every stage of the process. We’ll provide advice on how you can improve your CV and fully prepare you for interviews to give you the best chance possible of securing a new role.

We cover all commercial and accounts/finance roles in the north Staffordshire and south Cheshire areas. One thing to be assured of is that we only deal with companies we would be happy to work for ourselves. We deal with temporary, fixed term contract, temporary to permanent and permanent roles.

There are no rules on how your CV should look aesthetically, but its important to include the following information:

  • Name, contact details and area you live in
  • A profile – a short paragraph about yourself covering your skills, experience, strengths and personality
  • Education (in chronological order starting with the most recent)
  • Employment history – Starting with your most recent employment first, include the dates employed, position(s) held, a brief description of your duties and achievements – bullet points are often a good way to layout the duties.

If you would like, you can also include a hobbies and interests section and/or additional information which could include details such as systems used, voluntary work, professional memberships

Whilst it’s not essential, it’s always good to follow up on applications if you haven’t received any feedback. Give the company a call, or if you don’t feel comfortable picking up the phone send a follow-up email. This will make you stand out from the crowd; the recruiter is more likely to remember you when considering your application and it also means you’ll get an update on what stage your application is at.

Look at the job description – Make sure you prepare examples of where you have demonstrated the skills and experience required for the role.

Know your CV – Make sure you’ve looked at your CV to refresh your memory on employment dates, duties etc so you can confidently go through it.

Research the company – Visit the company’s website, establish what they do, how many employees they have, the company’s history etc. You could also look at their social media presence. You can even connect with your interviewer on LinkedIn.

Prepare for standard interview questions – There are some questions that are frequently asked in job interviews including “what can you bring to our company/this role?”, “what are your strengths and weaknesses?” Try to have answers prepared for these types of questions in anticipation.

Prepare some questions you can ask them – These can cover topics such as the team you’d be working in, induction and training programs, potential career development opportunities or company growth plans (at this stage, steer clear of anything relating to holiday pay, salary, sick pay etc).

Remember to dress smartly, arrive promptly, smile and offer a firm handshake!
