Candidate Requirements:

  • Required to have good admin skills, MS Word, Excel
  • Experience of working in a personnel environment with a sound grasp of relevant administrative processes
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to interpret terms and conditions of employment and regulations relating to pensions schemes for staff
  • Sound working knowledge of personnel policies and procedures; local agreements; conditions of service for all staff
  • Relevant vocational qualification, e.g. NVQ Level 4, BTEC Higher together with at least 5 years’ experience of personnel work
  • Working towards a formal personnel qualification (CPP or CIPD)
  • Knowledge of local government conditions and terms of employment
  • Working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, also Council IBS, ORACLE including Discovery, and / or similar computerised personnel systems

Job Description:

Our client is a large unitary local authority in the North West of England employing over 3,000 people and delivering around 500 services to residents and businesses.

 

We are looking for an HR Assistant to work within the HR Strategy and Policy Team. The role is initially for 12 weeks subject to review.

 

The post holder will work under the direction of a senior communications officer.

 

Provide administrative, technical and supervisory support across a comprehensive range of personnel activities delivered under an agreement that information management pay, and conditions advice are all delivered in accordance with service standards and objectives.
