Candidate Requirements:

  • Currently studying towards CIMA or AAT Minimum Level 3
  • Previous experience in a similar role around finance / accounting
  • Self-motivated, able to work under pressure on occasion and respond to requests in a timely manner
  • Strong numerical skills, problem solving and high attention to detail
  • Experience of pulling information together from larger databases
  • Ability to communicate in both reports and verbally
  • Excellent PC skills, including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate in both reports and verbally
  • Knowledge of AX ERP System

Job Description:

Our client is a manufacturer and global distribution firm who is seeking a Commercial Analyst. Offering a substantial benefits package, in-house and industry recognised training and internal development. The role is based in the heart of Stoke on Trent and is commutable from, Hanley and surrounding areas, Cheshire, Stafford, Biddulph and Congleton.

 

The Commercial Analyst will develop and maintain positive working relationships with management, peers, colleagues and key customers in the interest of achieving business objectives and will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Report on and analyse a range of commercial, financial and accounting data to support the business in its activities and decision making
  • Work through specific portfolio quotes for the UK and worldwide to ensure that they are meeting the margin expectations required inclusive of products, freight etc
  • Supporting Product Management UK on margin analysis on new introductions as well as post launch analysis
  • Reviewing promotions with sales on portfolio products
  • Responsible for claim backs, distributor and end user price files, National account sales figure, tenders and incentives
  • Margin Analysis - working with the sales team and provide information back to the business on margins for products they purchase in to resell
  • Identify and comment on trends and results
  • New product set up for Portfolio items
  • Preparing statistics on margin, competitors pricing etc to support the Product
  • Management team as well as the Commercial Chain Supply Director
