Writing a good CV can be on of the toughest challenges of job hunting
The trend for CV’s is to be short and concise. A little controversial but we completely disagree, in our opinion a more detailed CV allows the employer to truly understand your experience. We’re not talking 11 pages and it goes without saying that the information should be relevant to the role you are applying for.
The key is to take the time to edit your CV to include only the most essential information. And remember, your CV should be a working document, tailored to suit each job you are applying to.
On the opposite side, some job seekers think they are required to have a two-page CV. If you don’t have a lot of work experience yet, it is perfectly acceptable to have a one page CV.
- Personal profile statement – Show what makes you unique
- Choose a clear layout
- Truthful – don’t ever be tempted to fabricate the truth
- Tailor your CV to suit each job you are applying for
- Spell check – keep free from errors
