2018 has been a year of growth for Brampton Recruitment!
As we come to the end of another successful year for Brampton Recruitment, we’re looking back at some of the highlights of 2018. It’s been a year of growth for us, as 2018 has seen us relocate to a brand office and our team grow to 12!
At the beginning of the year, we announced that we would be continuing our support of C.R.Y (Cardiac Risk in the Young) and in particular the family of Daniel Hughes, who died suddenly in March 2015 of an undiagnosed heart condition at the age of 28. In August we completed a mile for mile bike challenge to coincide with the Lands End to Bignall End bike ride, organised to raise money for Daniel’s Memorial Fund. The Brampton team rode 408 miles on an exercise bike in the office to lend our support to the courageous team completing the epic journey.
In October we hosted the Ultimate *unofficial* Friends Quiz at Knights Solicitors in Newcastle. The event was a huge success and included some very tough questions for die-hard Friends fans, a raffle and silent auction. We were absolutely delighted to raise over £1500 for the Daniel Hughes Heart Screening fund. Take a look at photos from the night here.
We had a brilliant year of fundraising for Daniel’s memorial fund in aid of C.R.Y, and were thrilled to present Daniel’s Dad, Dave Hughes, with a cheque for £1629.56 at the end of October. The money will ensure more heart screenings can be organised to help save the lives of young people with undiagnosed heart conditions. We plan to continue our support of the Hughes’ family into 2019, so look out for more fundraising from us in the New Year.
This year has seen lots of positive change for Brampton Recruitment, starting with our move to new offices in Berkeley Court in May. Just a stone’s throw away from our previous location, our new home boasts a separate (and beautiful!) reception area, meeting room, two interview rooms and large kitchen area. Candidates and clients alike who have visited us since our move have all absolutely loved our new home… and so do we!
The Brampton team has really grown this year, with Holly Goodwin and Alicia De Burgh joining us as Commercial Consultants, Kirsty Woodcock as Recruitment Resourcer, and Sue Kerry and Leanne Taylor as Branch Administrators. They’ve all settled in so well, it feels as though they’ve been part of the Brampton family for years! You can find out more about the whole team here.
We continued our work in the community this year. In July our new Consultant Holly (along with her adorable son Harrison) went along to the wildlife garden we’ve sponsored at Brampton Museum’s gardens to take part in a butterfly hunt in preparation for the Heart of England in Bloom competition.
We awarded our 9th consecutive Temp of the Year award in May, which was presented to Daniel Sutton. We were delighted to announce Daniel as the winner, who had received amazing feedback from our client for his attitude and hard work. We’re in the process of judging the nominations for Temp of The Year 2018 and will be announcing the winner in the New Year!
2018 has been a year of award nominations! We were highly commended in the Business of the Year (Under 25 employees) category at the South Cheshire Chamber Business Awards. We were also highly commended in the Happiest Team category at Laughology’s National Happiness Awards. As part our nomination we created a video, which we had so much fun making that we managed to put together an additional outtakes video too!
We continued our ‘Refer a Friend Scheme’ throughout 2018, which has been a huge success since its launch in 2016. We’ve had some very happy recipients of shopping vouchers following successful placements of their referred friend or family member! The scheme will continue into 2019, so if you know anyone looking for work, send them our way for the chance of receiving up to £50 in shopping vouchers.
